Hi, my name is Christopher Bear and I live in The Huge Teddy Bears' Cuddly Home. The home is also a Teddy Bear Store. The boy who took care of me was called Timothy but I fell out of a box when we were moving to a new house and a lady found me and brought me here. Mr. and Mrs. Huge Teddy Bear take care of me now. Mr. and Mrs. Huge Teddy Bear are really people but they love soft toys and they dress up in real clothes that are made especially for us. I have alot of friends here, new toys and orphans like me. Sometimes little boys and girls come with their parents and they adopt one of my friends and take them home. Other times, the little boys and girls find the toy they lost, that is a magical moment. Let me tell you the story of Jenny Bear:
Jenny Bear Jenny Bear was a large teddy bear that looked like she had been very loved. She arrived here on a stormy day in March. She was found lying in the playground, behind our home, all dirty and soggy. Papa Bear, that's what we call Mr. Huge Teddy Bear, brought Jenny in. Jenny really was a cold and crying. Momma Bear (Mrs. Huge Teddy Bear) took Jenny and hugged and sang to her until Jenny stopped crying and then took Jenny to our special bathroom to get cleaned up. We have a special tub in our bathroom with a glass door on top, we love having a bath! Momma Bear sat Jenny in a chair and filled the tub with water and a little bubble bath. She then unwrapped Jenny and placed her in the tub. She closed the glass door and waved at Jenny. Jenny giggled as the water started swishing one way and then the other. Next, the water then began to slowly disappear and more water sprinkled on Jenny like raindrops. There was then some swishing back and forth again followed by spinning like the teacups at a fairground. Jenny had so much fun! Finally Momma Bear opened the door, lifted Jenny out, wrapped her in a clean towel and then gave her a huge tickley hug. She tickled Jenny with the towel until she was completely dry.
Now our home is divided into two rooms, the new soft toys live in the front room and we live in the back room, the one that overlooks the playground. We spend our days playing and watching the goings on outside in the big wide world. If people come into the store we hurry back to our special spots sit quietly. Sometimes we don't quite make it back to our places and we have to just stay very still. One day, a lady and a little girl came into the front shop. The little girl was not as excited as our visitors usually are. She walked from one bear to another without so much as touching one. She didn't even look at the stuffed jungle animals, stuffed dogs or stuffed cats. She then wandered into our room and gave a great sigh. She called to her mom, "Mom, it's ok, I don't need a new toy. It's just not the same. I wish I hadn't left Jen in the playground." I saw Jenny Bear move, I understood why - this was her little girl! The little girl started to move back toward her mother in the front room when Jenny Bear toppled off the shelf and onto the floor. The little girl picked her up and began to put her back when she suddenly gave a big smile and hugged Jenny Bear tight. "Mom, Mom, LOOK,,, it's Jen!" Jenny Bear gave me a little wave, she was going home and she looked so happy. I was happy for both her and the little girl. We would miss Jen but I knew she had been missing her little girl and we knew they would come back to visit one day.
